Our laser: the Apollo Eos Ice
We use the Apollo Eos Ice, a diode laser with three wavelengths in one: 755nm, 808nm and 1064nm. Having three wavelengths means the treatment can be adjusted to your skin tone and hair type, and the Cooler Partner handpiece cools the skin as we work for extra comfort.

How many sessions will I need?
Everyone is different, so we do not promise a set number of sessions. It depends on your hair, your skin and the area. Hair grows in cycles, so you need a course of sessions to treat the hairs as they grow. We always leave at least 4 weeks between sessions, and the exact gap depends on the area, because face and body hair grow at different speeds. The NHS also notes that complete hair removal cannot be guaranteed (NHS: laser hair removal). We plan your sessions with you at your patch test.
Before your appointment
- Shave the area 24 hours before your appointment.
- Do not wax, pluck or thread the area between sessions, because laser needs the hair root in place. Shaving is fine.
- No tanning for 2 weeks before your session: no sun tanning, sunbeds or fake tan.
- Please come with clean, freshly washed skin on the area being treated. Good hygiene keeps your treatment safe and comfortable, and it is especially important for intimate areas such as a Hollywood or High Bikini.
Aftercare
- No tanning for 2 weeks after your session, including sunbeds and fake tan.
- No saunas or steam rooms after laser.
- Some redness and swelling, a bit like mild sunburn, is normal and usually settles within 1 to 3 days. A cool compress can help (American Academy of Dermatology).
- Your skin is more sensitive to the sun after laser, so the NHS advises SPF 30 or higher on treated areas for at least 4 weeks (NHS).
Frequently asked questions
Does laser hair removal hurt?
Most people feel a quick warm snap. The cooling handpiece keeps it comfortable.
Laser or electrolysis?
Laser treats larger areas quickly and works best on darker hair. Electrolysis treats each hair individually and works on all hair colours, including grey, blonde and red. See our electrolysis in Newcastle page, or ask us at your patch test.
Is it hijab friendly?
Yes. All treatments take place in a private room. See our hijab friendly salon page.
