Electrolysis in Newcastle

Electrolysis in Newcastle: Permanent Hair Removal
Electrolysis in Newcastle at Glamaholic removes unwanted hair permanently, one hair at a time. It works on every hair colour, including white, grey, fair and red hair that laser cannot treat, and on every skin tone.
It is a popular choice for facial hair on the chin, upper lip, neck and eyebrows, including hair linked to PCOS or hormonal changes. Treatments take place in our private, women-owned, hijab friendly salon in Fenham.

How to prepare for electrolysis in Newcastle
Good preparation helps every session work better. We follow the advice of Sterex, the specialist UK electrolysis brand:
- Do not wax, pluck, thread or epilate the area you would like treated. These pull the hair out of the follicle, and we need the hair there to treat it.
- Let the hair grow to a few millimetres long before your appointment, so we can see it and treat it properly.
- If you really need to remove hair between sessions, cut it or shave it instead, as this does not disturb the hair follicle.
Electrolysis in Newcastle at Glamaholic suits anyone with stray or stubborn hairs, including white, grey, fair and red hairs that laser cannot treat. At your free consultation we look at the area, talk through how many sessions you may need and answer your questions before you start.
How electrolysis works
A very fine probe is placed into the natural opening of each hair follicle and a small amount of energy treats the root, so that hair cannot grow back. Because hair grows in cycles, you will need a course of sessions to treat every hair as it comes through. How many depends on the area, how dense the hair is and your hormones.
Electrolysis or laser?
Laser is quicker for larger areas such as legs and underarms and works best on darker hair. It gives long term hair reduction. Electrolysis treats each hair individually and can remove hair permanently, whatever its colour. Many clients use laser for the body and electrolysis for the face. We will recommend the right option for you at your free consultation.

Frequently asked questions
Does electrolysis hurt?
It is not painless. Most clients describe a quick sting or a feeling of warmth with each hair. We go at your pace and you can take a break whenever you need.
How many sessions will I need?
It is different for everyone. Most people need regular sessions over several months. We will give you an idea at your consultation and review your progress as you go.
What happens after a session?
The area may look a little red or slightly swollen for a few hours. Keep it clean and avoid make up for 24 hours.
Do I need a patch test?
Yes. A free patch test is needed before your first treatment.
Can I shave between electrolysis sessions?
Yes, if you really need to. Cutting or shaving is much better than waxing, plucking or threading, because it leaves the hair follicle undisturbed for your next treatment.
How long should the hair be for my appointment?
A few millimetres is ideal. The hair needs to be long enough for us to see it and treat it properly.
